Thanks, Tara and sparky!
Yes, effective reasoning.
last night i was taking another look at the term "dialectics":.
the art of investigating or discussing the truth of opinions: discussion; debate; logical reasoning; etc.. the dialectical method is, at base, a discourse between two or more people holding different points of view about a subject but wishing to establish the truth through reasoned arguments.. while i intend to do further research on my own, what is your own experience regarding preparation for debate, the do's and don'ts, maintaining your cool, .
i ask, in part, because i observe that some online debaters present facts and figures and use sound reasoning while maintaining their decorum; many do not.. thank you..

i'm teaching a class right now and my students' desktop computer is showing microsoft word upside down.

I'd watch my back, Wild_Thing, if I were you!

Thanks, cofty and SBF:
It was annoying! All pages were upside down. When trying to do a 180 degree fix, I was getting dizzy, all the pages of instructions being upside down. Then, one page on my own pc (not affected) I consulted said to simply do control / alt / four arrows.
Much appreciated, all!!!

I read that someone's dog caused the problem by jumping on the keyboard. The student's hands running roughshod over the keys earlier may have done likewise.
I tried reading it upside down -- all instructions on all pages were upside down. Was getting vertigo.

Thanks again, OC!
Had a little trouble understanding but learned that ctrl plus alt plus arrows would do it.
Very grateful for quick response! Now the kids are back to work on their essays.
Remember Lacey, OC -- the little girl with restaurant dreams? She's writing up another recipe now that helps use the thirty to thirty-five eggs she gathers daily on her farm. I just had four of her deviled eggs and had to stop myself from pigging out!

Will try that.
Edited to add -- all pages.

just watched this movie last night.. the premise of the title and film centers around the mother of young girl, who was raped, murdered, and set on fire by an unknown killer.
convinced that the local police could be doing more, she erects billboards outside of town, calling into question the efforts of the town's beloved chief of police.
this does not sit well with the other townspeople, and soon, the town priest comes to visit and admonish her.and after hearing him tell her if she came to church more regularly, she would be able to find the peace and resolution she needs over her daughter's death, she delivers this speech to him:.
smiddy:
I hated the dress also!

I believe, in the link provided, the commentator mentioned a flawed story line, which is true. Other comments elsewhere indicate this is not a totally believable, reality-based story. Dixon and Mildred received no censure -- no punishment -- for their crimes. Your commentary and arguments are spot on.
What did you think of Dixon's mom? Her acting was so believable.

The ending was ... odd ... -- jp1692

So when Dixon’s violence is turned toward ends that match Mildred’s, it read as a redemption arc for some. Dixon overhears a man bragging about sexual assault and, convinced that he’s Mildred’s daughter’s rapist, leaps into action. It turns out the man isn’t the rapist, but Mildred and Dixon, reasoning that he clearly raped somebody, set out somewhat ruefully to kill him anyhow. (It isn’t clear, from the end of the movie, whether they follow through on that plan.) [bold added]
And that’s where the film leaves us. That didn’t sit well with some critics, who saw it as a parry on the film’s part to redeem Dixon without asking him to do anything but the most basic work toward that redemption.
